Time is flying with the holidays and prepping for our upcoming safari (we leave Saturday for Tanzania!). Today was the full test of the camera, downloading to an older computer I set up (and in doing so lost all my browser information on all computers) with just LR and PS, a travel LR catalogue to import to my regular computer, and enough external storage to backup our memory cards along the way. Posting two Chicago photos - this one and a holiday-decorated plaza across from the train station. We'll have rare Internet access over the next few weeks, but I'll be busy photographing I'm sure! Happy New Year to all! "See" you mid-January.
Wonderful pov making a great composition with such strong leading lines! Love your processing here Taffy! Safe travels! So exciting! Looking forward to your images!
Great lines, textures- and a perfect capture of the grittiness. Your computer prep sounds extensive! Wishing you safe travels and more on this next adventure!
Fabulous image, great composition and textures, the grungy b&w edit fits very well here. Enjoy your long-awaited trip to Tanzania hope you will be able to get the 150-600 to good use and get many amazing wildlife images.
Wo-Hoo, a happy new year to you. Tanzania must be wonderful. I look forward to seeing your photos. This one is great, for the tones, composition, and slightly sinister feeling...
Amazing shot, I'm in a state of total bliss gazing at this one, right up my alley. The lines are incredibly strong. Have a fabulous time in Tanzania, stay safe and shoot lots.
firstly, another fabulous image, taffy. love your processing. secondly, you may well have left already ... bon voyage and wishing you and yours all good things for 2019 ... i look forward to your pics :)
Looks as if the z6 is every bit as sharp as the z7. This is a cool shot but I find the balance perturbing. I think the off to the left light at end of tunnel would work better if there was something in the light to make it work the eye traveling to it...if that makes sense
@jgpittenger I am so happy with the Z6! It's been fantastic on this trip for the broader scenes. I unfortunately forgot my adaptor, which I'd planned to use on walking safari with my 28-300 so am annoyed with myself. System has been great to have the 24-70 on the Z6 and the 150-600 Tamron on the D610. I'm using the latter far more, of course, because of the animals, but the Z6 is fast, comfortable to handle, and I've had none of the problems I had with the Z7. Just hope it continues!
Thanks as always for your thoughtful feedback on the end-point for the eye in this shot. With the safari, I suspect it may be years before I return to this shot for edits!
