The light tonight was quite lovely as the sun was setting. I've been photographing those birch trees off and on for years and they finally have developed into a well-shaped cluster. It's made me wonder if I could find the earlier ones for contrast (or rather, if I am willing to put the time in to try to find them).
Good day today -- golf (not good but fun) and all plants are now planted!
Beautiful capture regardless if you go back and search for an earlier version. I will not grow weary of your Beaver Island sunsets! Love the layers of light. As for me I have just re.upped my 365 membership so am trying to post something everyday for a month!
@ukandie1 Good for you to have re-upped!! And a photo a day for a month may get you back into the groove. I'm trying to do the same now, but finding I don't have the time yet to do more than take photos around here. Showy Lady Slippers (state flower, rare, not allowed to be moved) are in bloom, but I haven't yet found them. Directions I was given: Look on the west side of Kings Highway before you get to McCaully's Road. I may try tomorrow.
@taffy Oh my gosh that sounds like an impossible hunt, good luck! I have realized that I have a whole strip of Grand Avenue store fronts that can be made into an Americana project! As they say watch this space!
@ukandie1 Great idea! I wonder if I could do anything interesting in the 'town' here -- once a fishing village. I can't wait to see what you do and how to think about a parallel!
@taffy oh yes it sounds great to me, a Beaver island story... you have seen it year after year so it seems normal to you, but will be something new to us non Beaver Island dwellers!
Ooh what a beautiful scene , full of peace and tranquillity in that wonderful evening sun . gorgeous warm colour and all the lines leading to the tree clump ! Nicely composed and well balanced scene ! fav
I knew it was Beaver Island as I scrolled down! How lovely to be back there with you Taffy!! This is such a beautiful image with fabulous light. I love how the trees have grown as I remember your earlier images. I seem to have missed a few days of BI - not been on 365 much as I have been poorly. Catching up now.
@joansmor Yes, those on the east side get beautiful sunrises while we on the west side benefit from the sunsets. East siders also can get moonrise’s. It’s only 15 minutes across the island if I were up early. I just rarely am!
@sailingmusic I think it’s only the showy ones. But I’m not sure...will have to check out how restricted it is! I think that’s also the case for Trillium, so it’s exciting when they bloom in the wild and we can find them! Totally overcast today so it may be a good day to try.
would be very interesting to see the earlier landscape!
