We noticed the new transfer station manager directing us to the entrance with her paw. Not sure how long she'll last in this position, but it was a nice change of pace.
Interesting thing about life on an island..we all learn exactly how much trash we produce as we have to take it and the recycle materials to the transfer station and sort it all into the correct bins.
She's gorgeous! I like the way you describe how self aware sorting your own trash makes you. That is probably a good thing. Love the wildlife you have on the island!
Great capture. Oddly my community is one of only a handful in this area that recycles. Once you get used to it you feel guilty not separating everything.
Love your interpretation of the wildlife's posture. Good point about the rubbish/waste/trash though. I do as much separating as reasonably possible, but I do so wish that the authorities would get serious about recycling.
What a good indication of life on Beaver Island. The mere fact that she is so close to the transfer station says so much. The way of life on Beaver Island sounds very similar to life in the outskirts of Stanthorpe.... A nice change from the city rush. :)
I guess doing all your own sorting makes you very self aware about the recycling. I sometimes get confused about what can and cant be recycled and what will or will not be allowed. There seems to be little consistency in the UK as to what gets collected - every council having different rules. Lovely to be introduced to your new manager here - I wonder if she is still in situ!
