Luminar 4 has a sky replacement feature as one of its 'creative' options. This is one of the template skies, with some fussing around by me, replacing a late afternoon blue sky. I then fiddled with lighting based on my experiences light painting, and did some other adjustments that I've totally lost track of by now. It was fun and I sort of like the result but it is definitely totally NOT what I saw except in my own mind. It would be more fun, I admit, if we weren't dealing with potential serious negative impacts of these techniques. Definitely better on black.
It looked real to me! I would love to see something like this for real. Might happen in 2020- we'll see. In the meantime- good job on the replacement sky!
This ought to exist! Leaving aside the moral implications, this is a great image. We used to say 'The camera can't lie' - perhaps we now need to change that to 'The camera seldom tells the truth'!
It’s superbly done, no doubt but thinking of the photographers spending most of the night out in the cold, to capture the perfect image.......will that be lost in the near future?
Nicely done! I think you made it work and be realistic. I am conflicted about this new feature, my heart says to not use it, but then as I look at some of the shots i took of the bridges in Dublin with very flat skies I can see a desire to try and make it more interesting. The challenge is in making the light be realistic! Will have a play with it!
