Our governor and the mayor, in a joint news conference today, asked all to remain home for the foreseeable future. At least tonight, we had everything we needed for a great dinner at home, including a FaceTime with family in Baltimore and Portland. Jim made the ratatouille and I did the shrimp salad. Good combination!
Site where Jim found the recipe he used here (but he said he modified a little from having made this using other recipes in the past): https://tasty.co/recipe/ratatouille
Yummy!!! Especially the ratatouille! We are picking up Nik tomorrow, most of her friends have headed to their parents homes so she decided to come home too. Have to admit I will enjoy having her home.
I hate shrimp but the ratatouille looks fabulous. Too bad you probably won’t be coming for graduation so I can’t beg him to make it for us, but maybe he’d send me the recipe?
Oh, both look lovely. We are on a vegan diet now as my son is home and I refuse to cook two sets of food! Very time consuming, but then, fortunately, I have more time now because everything I do has been cancelled! Oh, dear, we live in interesting times.
@jamibann You made me smile there. Saw a cartoon yesterday of a shark coming up to a lady water skier and saying "I am on a vegan diet. Are you a vegan?"
who needs restaurants to be open if only we could go to taffy's house? glad you had a fab cook-up. we are busy trying to set up life via zoom (i've managed yoga and bridge so far, and a coffee date!) expecting the uk to be in total lockdown fairly soon
@taffy@jgpittenger -- oh just ask Jim to post it here so we can all see it. Although I'd rather he just make it for me :)

@jgpittenger Really, it was just a regular salad with shrimp added, but I thought it made it look a lot prettier (and to me, taste better). Recipe coming...
Who needs to go out when this is dinner at home? It looks yummy! Your narrative mentioned staying at home "for the foreseeable future". That's so very open ended ( as is the whole situation) but it is a worry - do they have plans in place for people to renew their food, medicine etc supplies?
Fantastic food photography! Funny because I too have been cooking and baking up a storm this week to keep from going stir crazy and to satisfy myself by eating good food.
Oh yes this looks so delicious! Here in the holiday (that’s not a holiday) cottage we only have the things I brought with us so no fancy cooking for a while! Great food photo!
