After several days of rain, our last day on the island was perfect for our flight off, like the island was trying to show me its best autumn self. It's hard to believe 4 months there passed so quickly. I was so fortunate to have that bubble and hope it will sustain me through the winter ahead. In the process of unpacking and reorganizing and doing things like getting much needed flu shots and other errands on Monday. Terrifying to think of going out in the city, but will be prepared with face mask throughout, and a shield if needed. Numbers here are higher than the worst of last spring, as we're seeing throughout the country. Will hopefully be back to commenting later in the week.
Thank you for putting my autumn carpet photo on TT this week! Much appreciated!
Exquisite dressed for Autumn from the skies. I would want to stay there until the Pandemic is over! All the best as you return to the City. Cases are shooting up in my area again and it does make you nervous when you go out. I'm sure you'll be fine though, because you are careful. Sending lots of love your way, dear one.
@thewatersphotos We were lucky to have a good day. Flights are in little planes -- this one was a 6-seater -- so we fly fairly low, and always the same path. I had my phone out and was ready for when we passed over Lake Geneserath (aka Lake G) and had the shoreline in sight for Lake Michigan.
Scary for you coming into the city...you must have felt quite protected over the last four months. Beetle about doing your jobs quickly & get home quick.
This is such a stunning place, you wouldn’t want to leave! Fave again.
how lovely to see your island from an aerial shot, and with such colour abounding. I hope you adjust back to city life - with all its peculiarities of the times - without too much difficulty.
Time flies when yu're having fun, doesn't it! That is such a delightful change from Chicago - both have their good points, but think I'd take the Island. Stay safe back in the big city - hear you're hitting peaks again.
This is such a stunning place, you wouldn’t want to leave! Fave again.
