I went to close the blinds last night and couldn't believe the moon was setting so early and was so red! Not a great shot as I didn't have time to get set up, so handheld and missing clarity/sharpness, but if I'd waited for tripod and external shutter release, it would have been gone.
Beautiful shot. The moon is red or yellowed when it is closest to rise or set because you are seeing it through the dust of the atmosphere. When she rises higher, you see the whiter reflection from the sun on her.
