The sun was out so I naively thought it would be fine to go for a walk outside. Despite wearing a down coat from neck to ankles, hat, and gloves, it was too cold to enjoy a long photo walk, so I was glad when I happened on this puddle reflecting the Merchandise Mart. Next step was to think about how to photograph for b&w processing -- one of my photographic goals for this year. Taken with iPhone in RAW, processed in LR, then Silver Efex, then back to LR.
I put a color version on my Instagram site: https://www.instagram.com/p/CnyI-8hu0E7/
The puddle makes a magnificent mirror. At first I was trying to figure out how someone channeled a stream into an endless swimming pool sort of container. Then I read your comments. I hope this prints out well for you. Totally different mood in color.
@yaorenliu Mostly it's a disadvantage I've found, as I don't think it gives me as much control as I'd like. BUT, on a very cold and windy day, it fit in my pocket and the photo can be taken more quickly so my finger is exposed for less time. That's the main advantage to me right now. Sometimes, it's just easier than carrying my camera. The iPhone 14 pro lets me photograph in RAW, so it gives me enough data to work with.
