Word of the Day: Poinsettia.
Last night Jim and I hosted a dinner for 20 for our two classes of doc students to celebrate the end of the semester and get to do some cross-cohort bonding. I thought we were making a phone call to order pizza and salad. Jim instead spent the day cooking -- three lasagnas and roasted veggies! He also brought home 2 bouquets of lilies and this poinsettia to decorate the house. AND, he got rid of some boxes of his stuff that had been in our family room for over 5 years! YAY Jim!!
Photographed using 'sweet 16 manual settings' learned in an earlier challenge.

Oh your husbands sounds great, you are lucky to have such capable and helpful husband! Oh I love the deep red tone in this, I can´t ven bring any of these home cos they´re sort of poisoneus and my cat sure likes to eat plants and flowers.
Crikey, steady on Jim, you're letting the side down rather there!! I confess, yesterday I cooked Rebecca her tea, and I have bought her a Pinsettia this week and sorted out a box of old camera stuff given to me!! Lovely shot BTW Taffy.
@seanoneill I just read Jim your comment and he loved it! Thought he first had to sort out that 'cooking tea' meant cooking dinner (we had a laugh at the though of cooking tea as in boiling water!).
beautifully photographed :)
Apparently they grow about 6ft in the wild which must be a fantastic sight.
