Fresh Air Aviation is a charter company that serves Beaver Island. This is the plane we flew off the island where I was able to sit in the co-pilot seat.
A classicly composed image that works. Main subject on the thirds, a moving object with room to travel into, a dark base. On top of that a well chosen shutter speed that showes movement in the propeller and good processing.
@bob65 Thanks Bob! I appreciate your analysis as this is exactly what I was trying to do -- propeller motion, rule of thirds, etc. I took about 6 shots as the plane approached and this one seemed to have the most to work with before tweaking through a crop and then enhancing the details a bit.
@kathiecb I'm such a white knuckle flier, but the small planes' pilots have been wonderful at helping me get over the fear a bit. And taking photos keeps me very distracted from the idea of falling out of the sky!
