Urban Landscape by taffy

Urban Landscape

For my get-pushed challenge this week, Paign (@paign) challenged me to create "daytime landscape." Looking east on Adams from the west loop toward downtown, you can see how the Sears (now called Willis) Tower dominates the skyline. The blue sky and fluffy clouds, and late afternoon/early evening sun provided some great lighting.
@paign Here's my first landscape for our get-pushed this week. Hopefully I'll have some contrasts other than just urban landscapes by the end of the week!

Wonderful cityscape! Love those vertical lines and great light. Well done!

Nicely composed! I like how you've included the living tree amongst the hard, man made structures.

@pflaume @kwind Thanks Lisa. And kwind -- the trees were 'in my way' and I couldn't do anything about it, and then I realized that it was an important addition to the photo. I'm so glad you commented on it.

I really like the blue sky in this because it grabs my attention to the other parts of your image that either contrast or blend (colorwise) I found myself noticing the other blueish tones in the image and the reds. The verticals of everything is wonderful.

@heidit @danitech Thank you both, Heidi and Danielle. You are both so supportive and reinforcing! I'll be back to commenting on your photos (my husband wonders how I'm going to do without access to my addiction to 365 for four days!). Til Sunday...

@colie Thanks Colie -- I appreciate your viewing my earlier shots. I won't thank you for each and every, but know that I've noticed and read your comments, and do appreciate it! I figured it's easier to say that in one message than having you have to go through and read it each time. Many thanks!

@taffy thanks, I'm sorry for all of the messages of thanks today, I was so behind and I typically go through one at a time, thank, and view commenters photos. Not the best idea when that behind:) I like your idea much better:) note taken!

@colie No need to apologize! I love getting messages on my photos and in response to others. It's just tonite it's already 1 a.m. and I haven't posted yet, and I'm going to be behind this weekend because of a grant proposal, so I figured I'd thank you for all at once. I hope I didn't sound like I was ungrateful or criticizing!!
