One of the last few photos I am working on to post from my recent photo walk in NYC with @michaelelliot and @jyokota (Michael and Junko). I had this one in mind for black and white Wednesday and have been tweaking it off and on since the weekend. This is the area where the singer in red was performing, standing pretty much in the spot where she had been singing earlier, and looking through to the fountain. It took a while for the covered area to be free of people while enough were present outside to give the sense of scale. The building is gorgeous and in color, it has almost unbelievably rich and deep golden brown tones.

Still having fun with the photos -- far too many to post, but wanted this one in an album. One more to post from the library sometime this week!
So beautiful Taffy. Your recent work has given me a newfound appreciation for architecture and the man- made.the shadows and reflections here are gorgeous.
@mzzhope Thanks so much, Hope. It took me a while to adjust to being back in the city after the summer on the island, but truly, I've always loved the city (Chicago) and architecture, and NYC provided an incredible opportunity to try to capture that city using what I've been learning by photographing my home town. Jim has been teasing me of 'betraying' the 'second city' because of the long time competition between NYC and Chicago that goes back to the world expo in the late 1800s (Devil in the White City describes it well).
okay, you are making me want go back to NY with my camera! the lines and reflections are so detailed, and the arches frame your photo perfectly.
the processing is perfect. fav!
@taffy I was at a conference in Chicago years ago,And to be honest..I am not a city girl,so was not looking forward to it.But I fell in LOVE! I took a night bike ride tour and it remains one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done.My friend and I also blew off the last day of the conference because there was a food festival in the park!
The processing is great! LOVED this place. I also watched and enjoyed a concert here. The drama and framing of the fountain here is great. I found Junko through you and Michael today. And am enjoying a great new friend and follower and person to follow. I must visit you for a Chi-town meet up sometime soon. We are so close...an easy day drive. Fav!
Great point of view. I am trying to recall where this is. I know he fountain but don't remember this. Anyways, I think the Black and White looks great and helps focusing on the "end of the tunnel"! Well done!
Fabulous capture, what a wonderful building and great in black and white. Love your composition. Looks like you have some amazing shots from your visit.
