I've been waiting to take this shot for almost a year! This is the 'engagement ring' or 'wedding cake' building that I've posted before - links in case you don't remember or are interested: http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-11-15 and http://365project.org/taffy/special-photos/2013-11-15
Anyway, every once in a while, the moon sits on top of the building and looks like it has been shot right out of it. When I was taking my puddle shots earlier, I noticed the moon was up, but off to the right from where I would have wanted it. So I started walking until I was at a point where the moon was where I wanted it to be (about 4 blocks northeast). Then, I leaned on top of a car in a parking lot to steady my camera so I could take a bracketed shot. I took about 10 bracketed versions (30 photos) in hopes that at least one set would work. Then, I used HDR to combine them into one shot (3 of them, not 30), converted to b&w, smoothed out in Color efex, and ta-da. I'm SOOOO excited -- and it means another day I've continued with b&w in my challenges album.

Oh yes well worth the wait and walk, it looks so majestetic and really like the moon would have been shot out of there. This would look fantastic on the wall printed and framed. FAV!

And Ross, today I tried to create the feel of your images -- I'll tag you when I post it!
