I've seen a few other photographers on the site do a series on a single subject - often a plant. We have some pretty beautiful looking lilies that have started to bloom, so I decided to use them for the next few days as a way to examine form. We'll see how it goes. It's a different take on macro-March, but intrigues me as a short-term project.
Great detail in the petals shows up the texture really well. Like the crop showing the curve of the petals. Nice deep colour looks good against the black background
The colors and curves are wonderful. I think I would have liked to see the top of the curve of the nearest petal, but this is still wonderful. I admire the wide range of subjects and techniques that you do so well.
@sianipops Thanks so much! I'm finding the discipline of having to look at a single image and not being able to manipulate it is really good for me. I've taken so many shots of it by now that I feel I'll miss it when it goes on with its life cycle!
Beautiful- I love the curves and composition of the space. Beautiful tones, light and shadows- the way the white edge stands out and highlights the organic curves. And the rich color against the black looks so nice
