Chicago is still one happy city with the Blackhawks having one the Stanley Cup and doing so on home ice. So cool to hear from several of you that it made international news -- whoohoo!! Tomorrow morning is the parade and it goes right by our current condo -- I'm working up the nerve to stand on the balcony with camera in hand. We'll see. Tonight I braved the balcony to capture the Cup in a highrise east of us. You'll notice the little red Blackhawk in the lower right -- that's been on for over a week now. The Cup was added to the lightscape tonight.
@pamknowler Chicago supports its teams, but especially the Blackhawks. The owner is great to the team and the support staff. He's flown the mom's of all the players to an away game, for example. And all the players are expected to do community service. So different than most of the sports superstars. Hope the trip went well. Thinking good thoughts for you and yours.
@taffy thanks Taffy! Good yo have a great team to support! We are leaving for home this morning - so sad to leave my favourite county! Had a wonderful week but now it's back to reality and the hospital next Wednesday!
How fun! Just think you've been in this temporary home at just the right time and captured some awesome city shots thanks to the floor number you live on!
@olivetreeann Thanks for your visits tonight! Yes, we have been awfully lucky with this condo for so many months. We're probably going to put our condo on the market as soon as we can and then end up buying this one if it's available. We love being on one floor, and the ease of a turn-key departure when we're traveling! We'd miss the neighborhood we are in, but that place is totally vertical, with stairs everywhere.
@taffy I was so behind! But I managed to get caught up today- surprising! When we moved to Sussex Cty NJ we ended up in a one floor apt. and then a one floor home when we moved here to PA. And yes, I have decided I will never live in a home with stairs again! hehehe
