View from the Market!

As Junko and I exited the main Barcelona market, looking across La Rambla - the huge main walking boulevard - and up at the building across the way, we spotted the Erotic Museum 'enticer' standing on the balcony in his Marilyn Monroe inspired pose. Very funny and so at odds with the market and street scene below.
I was forcing myself to use my Lensbaby, which is not at all my style, and had a bit of fun with it one morning. I find it VERY hard to use! But wanted to to try one for April Milani's theme: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/26747/it-s-lensbaby-time
Woah, sassy. Must be a strange place!

Great capture, love your pov

@jyokota -- here's a posting from our first market morning. Thinking about the eggs and peppers this morning as I ate much more mundane food at home!

Forcing yourself to use it eh? Well this turned out so nice! Glad you had some fun with it ;)

Fascinating... the Lensbaby worked out really well for this shot. I find them hard to use, too, but the results are really worth it (when you can get focus, as here).

Erotic Museum Taffy ...what next? Love the way the lens sharpens the focus on the interesting area. Love it.

Awesome! Nicely captured!
December 18th, 2015
Very cool shot

This image is what lens baby was made to capture - focus specifically on the totally bizarre image within a wider content!
December 18th, 2015
Really nicely done, it really focuses the eye.
December 18th, 2015
Did you go in and have a look? We didn't have time when we went.
December 18th, 2015
I love your focal point and blur. I have so much trouble too. This is great!
December 18th, 2015
Wow, love this!
I just took the plunge and bought a Lensbaby Spark as a starting point and I am finding it a steep learning curve. However, this shot has inspired me, so thank you!!

Great find and lens baby look!
December 18th, 2015
Love it - the blurrier, the better---:)
December 18th, 2015
There are some great balconies in Barcelona - on just about every building! I like what you have done here! fav
December 18th, 2015
Fantastic image!! The blur and focus are the perfect balance.
December 18th, 2015
Fantastic use of the LB!! The eyes are drawn to that lone individual while the rest of the unique building is blurred to a decorative surrounding.
December 18th, 2015
Cool, surreal image...great job using your LB
December 18th, 2015
Great DoF and blur, lovely image
December 18th, 2015
Really lovely.
December 18th, 2015
Wild and crazy sight! Great effect.
December 18th, 2015
Brilliant effect. And love the colours too. What a wonderful find and a great shot.
December 18th, 2015
Great photo, Id love to know how you do that.
December 18th, 2015
I like the effect here and the colours are very attractive.

This works so well Taffy - Fav for me.
December 19th, 2015
Worked well to take the eye just where you wanted it. Erotic museum! Wow! Did he successfully entice you inside?
December 19th, 2015
So beautiful.
December 19th, 2015
Brilliant composition and capture with that dappled light.
December 19th, 2015
@jgpittenger @shepherdmanswife Thanks for the visit, Jane and Chantal! Nope, we didn't make it inside...but it might have been fun to see what it was all about!
December 19th, 2015
I was wondering if it was Lens Baby and did think it wasn't your usual style, but this really works! Super fun image!

Kim
Neat shot!
December 19th, 2015
I agree. Works really well with drawing your eye away from the lovely classical buildings/balconies of La Ramba (which are photogenic enough in their own wright) and focuses attention where you wanted it. Perfect result. Fav for me. Sorry to tell that the museum itself IS worth a visit!! ;)
December 19th, 2015
I think you picked the perfect subject for a lens baby here. A clear focal point and repetitive "all around", which makes the blur very fitting.
December 19th, 2015
The style also captures the way seeing such a sight in the street would catch the eye, giving the viewer a sort of tunnel vision that blurred out the rest of reality.
December 19th, 2015
Totally excellent, gotta fave it.
December 20th, 2015
Stunning picture. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
