Gus, the Rescue Basset Hound by taffy

Gus, the Rescue Basset Hound

I was doing a photo walk and ran into a 'dog friend' from back in the days when we had Nutmeg and she had Tater. Both dogs are in doggy heaven if that exists and she has continued to rescue basset's. Gus has been with her 2 months, probably about 3-4 years old, suffering from abuse with related trust issues. He's now in such a good home that hopefully he'll recover from such a hard life in his formative years.
Awww what a sweetie!

Amazing to hear about pure bred dogs being rescue ones! All our rescue dogs seem to be pit bull crosses.! He's so sweet!

Trust will come as Gus realizes that he is loved and respected now. Those who rescue are very special wonderful souls.

So sorry to hear about the abuse of animals. I hope this lovely dog can move past it.

I hope so too! Bassett Hounds always have that "Please love me!" look to begin with. But it also sounds like he now has a person that if anyone can win his trust back, it will be her.
