Hummingbird Dreams v3

Based on a few comments, I was inspired to go back for a third try to get the tones closer to the original version I posted 2 days ago. Thank you all for your help with this!

No need to comment as I'm guessing you're getting bored with these!

Third attempt -- couldn't exactly replicate the original tones because of where the items in the composite were placed, but this is a lot closer than yesterday's darker tones. I'm actually not sure which I like better at this point, but it's been a very useful exercise in learning to control Textures.

fascinating process. matching color/tones is really an interesting thing. I've got a bunch of pictures of a day that Joes spent on the river and I thought I would make a collage ... but sometimes the sky is blue and sometimes it's ... well, another blue altogether! I think I'm still a fan of the very first version. Looking at the thumbnails, I'm thinking that it's the branch that is so much more dynamic. (I understand that the process of experimenting is fascinating even when the results aren't what I want!)

@francoise I know what you mean -- more of the branch is in the first version which I liked, but then her feet were too close to the branch even with this bird, and I couldn't solve the problem of the feet looking wrong. What a learning experience -- I love how a single image has been so generative. The joy of Year 4 and not feeling so compelled to shoot a new photo every day (though I've gotten distracted from ONS and have to get back on track).

So interesting to see the thinking process through these three different versions. You must have spent hours but the tones you have now are most definitely the more applealing and once you had the issue with the feet in your head, I guess you would always be troubled by it. Now you have something to really enjoy! Impressive.

Beautiful tones in this version Taffy! I have to say the first one had the Wow factor for me even with the feet issue. I have liked these other versions and am very interested in what you have done. Another Fav!

I do miss the original branch. I wonder re cropping up from bottom just a tad so you had the Y and just the one little branch left. It's such a great shot, I think it's worth perfecting
