An alternate image to that in my main album. In this one, using the lensbaby, my goal was to have my window in focus, along with what could be focused in the building we are living in. We are on the top floor in a unit that looks west from the 3rd and 4th windows from the left (the two that have the brick area between them. The awnings are for Duck Duck Goat -- hotspot restaurant. At the other end of the building is The Publican -- another hotspot restaurant. In between is Gus' Chicken -- small venue, not a hotspot, but tasty. They kept the building's original brick facade, while the interior was turned into lofts.

Such an interesting shot Taffy!! It's good to see where your temporary home is. It certainly sounds like a vibrant area. I am loving the lens baby effect with that perfect focus in the centre. Maybe I would like one? LOL! Fav!

Here's a link to the LB website showing the different lenses. I have the Spark -- the cheapest but the most annoying to use: http://lensbaby.com/shop/?product_cat=lenses
The Spark is all manual while the others allow you to fix a focal point and hold it there. In the one I have, it's all in your hands handling the accordion for lens focal placement. Impossible to hold or reproduce for a 'do-over'.
Pam, I find it is my least useable lens -- less than the Fisheye, but it may be the model I chose. I'm trying to use it now for two days in a row, just to get a handle on it more. Then, away for 4 days so will take regular lenses along. But then plan to come back to the LB again. It's also sort of a 'not my style' one but I'm working on figuring out ways to use it with urban and architectural shots.
@taffy thanks Taffy..I had no idea what lb was but that makes sense now..the images look pretty cool but not cheap.. think I will do some research on them and in the meantime I'm going to creat my own version..π
You're going to love having this to look back on in time! Not only the fact that you're living there, but it will be fun to look at it historically when this has completely changed! Nice timing!
@taffy Thanks for the info Taffy but I really don't think it's a lens that I need. I love my fisheye but as you say that one has a limited use. I don't think another lens like that will help me. I will just enjoy your images!!
@pamknowler I agree -- it's the one lens that if I didn't already have it, I would not invest in it. In the right hands, it's amazing to see the results, but it isn't the kind of photography I am particularly inclined to nor successful when I've tried it. It is satisfying to be able to get SOME shots sometimes with it, just for the challenge...am taking it out again today, but not sad to be putting it away when I leave tomorrow.
Great image to show the area you're living in pro tem Taffy. It looks like the kind of place I'd enjoy wandering around. Love those old brick buildings, so much character to some of them.
