I find this building fascinating. As it was going up, I wondered how nerve wracking it would be to live or work above such a thin base. The whole area changes color at different times of day and weather conditions.

Wow, though I am sure it was properly engineered, I couldn't do it! There is a newish building near my son sinking a foot a year and another one here that is sinking.
I'm with you re the building. But the photo is terrific with all those lines and shapes. I like the way you've captured a horizontal slice of the architecture.
I remember seeing this building last year when we were on the River tour and thinking WOW how will that work? It looks amazing and this image is gorgeous with all the lovely colour tones. Great to see all the glossy new buildings with that older one peeping through under the wedge. Such great extremes of architecture. Love it!! Fav!
@pamknowler It really was interesting watching this one being built. It looks sturdier now than it did at the beginning, but is one of the oddest architectural examples in the city, I think!
Will become an icon, like the Transamerica building in SF. I see all sorts of photographic potential in this. Looking forward to more angles, and perspectives.
Wow- that shot really plays tricks with the eyes thanks to all those windows and reflections! It took me a moment to figure out which building you were talking about! Great shot!
What a gorgeous architectural shot! ...OMG...I kept trying to figure which had a small base! I was seeing it all as placements of different buildings until I saw the central image on that tiny base! NOT for the faint of heart!!!
Impressive architecture - I always wonder if these buildings are constructed with a built-in demolition plan for the future as blowing them up is obviously not an option.
You are an excellent photographer, Taffy, and it's easy to spot your work without seeing the name. I'm so glad you are including some color shots! I know I'm weird but I'm just not into B&W. FAV
