And New Dreams Don't Come True

As seen yesterday, I really enjoy those old buildings that were European inspired, but built by the Japanese. But honestly coming from america, all those styles of old buildings look the same.

What I really enjoy are the more Asian style of buildings. Unfortunately many old chinese style buildings in Taiwan have not stood the test of time. However there are a few Japanese style homes that have held up over the years. This one is actually in the garden of the building shown in yesterday's picture.

As you can see there are info signs in front of it, so sometimes you are actually allowed to walk up closer to it, but unfortunately this day was not one of those days. It reminds me of the day trip I took the copper mine, I also went to a nearby town that had a few japanese homes like this, but they didn't allow visitors. Actually the whole time we were there my friends was bragging to me that one time she got a private tour of one of those homes because she knows a guy who knows a guy.

That's ok, I can just come back to this one on a day it's open. Or just go to japan. It's funny how i sometimes forget that Japan is just a quick two hour flight away. But a roundtrip ticket can be around 500 dollars, which seems a lot for such a short flight. Although I do have friends there I can stay with for free. So who is going to come watch my dog for me so I can go?
