Well this was my effort for the night. Came over a bit cloudy here for the first time in forever!!! But was brilliant to watch never the less. Cant wait to see some other photos of it.
This is absolutely beautiful. Fav for me as well!! Is the key to have a lens that zooms to 400mm? I am new at this..Mine only goes to 200 mm ..I posted a moon pic today as well..
This is great. Awesome detail. What part of the world are you from? I am located in northern Vermont, USA. It was very cloudy no moon at the time of the eclipse. Clouds cleared right after sunrise. :(
@elizabeth264 I just used the biggest lens I have to get as much detail as I could. @shuterfly I'm in Exmouth in WA, Australia. There was slight wispy cloud going over the moon when I took this photo too. What is it with clouds coming the one night of the year you want to see the moon!!! Thanks for you Favs and comments :D
It's a fantastic shot, great detail and colour. I went out a few times and all i got was a red blob!! Having my first lesson soon on how to use my camera manually....might help!
I was really looking forward to seeing your shot of this - it's absolutely wonderful, well done! The light and shadow and shimmer on it are great and the colour - wow!
We didn't get to see any of it from here (not unsurprisingly when you consider we are on the other side of the world) so I was hoping you had managed to get it! Fav
Thanks @filsie65 for your kind words. Bit of a bummer that we had so much cloud around...I just couldnt quite get a clear shot because of the wispy cloud and as it came into complete shadow I couldnt see it at all for the clouds!!!! But Im happy enough with this one until the next eclipse anyway :P
Had another look, can't see any clouds so you did really well catching it when you did! I have seen shots of it completely red but actually love the shimmer on one side better!
When the moon rose here yesterday it had a chunk missing! I jumped up and grabbed the camera then realised it was just a cloud - it was hours after the eclipse....doh.......!
