I've tried photographing smoke before. It's difficult, but I'm learning. Here, I used morning sunlight coming in through a window as back lighting. Focus was an issue. I tried prefocusing on the candle holder and using a smallish aperture. I think I needed a faster shutter speed. That lovely light source is gone, now. We'll see if I can try, again, tomorrow.
I have yet to try smoke photography though I have bought the incense sticks. No real reason not to give it a try ... except my reluctance to try new things!
@la_photographic I'm looking for clarification. Do you mean find faces that aren't on the heads of live creatures, like a face made out of two fried eggs and a strip of bacon? The technical term I am thinking of is pareidolia.
