not sure what type of bird this is...it has been working the Calliope river for the last couple of days ...perched high in a gum tree it would bomb the water and scare the heck out of any unfortunate fish....someone said it was a white sea eagle????
Hi John. You're just down the road. This is magnificent shot of a Brahminy Kite. We used to only see them on the coast. But with the raising of Awoonga Dam they travel right up through the Boyne Valley now following the river.
Ohhhhh this is so magnificent John. I saw a Golden Eagle yesterday. It was flying along the river parallel to our car and as I was trying to get my camera ready he landed on a tree. Just as I got out of the car (my driver did stop..haha) and set up to take his photo in the tree he flew off. I got a couple of quick shots, but they were out of focus. The image in my head. He was just stunning...sooo big and a huge wing spread. I'lll never forget it. This shot is so clear...it looks as though you are flying with him. Huge FAV
