Buckland Valley by teodw

Buckland Valley

Looking down the Buckland Valley towards Porepunkah in north east Victoria. This area was a tobacco growing area but now it is a mixture of smaller enterprises. Lots of pine plantations grow and are logged here. Wineries have become popular as well as nut and berry growing and the occasional emu/alpaca farm. Tourists love this destination for the beautiful Autumn colours and the close by snow fields at Mt Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt Buffalo to name a few. My brother in law lives here and this is his view. He is a bit of an eccentric hermit type guy, but that's cool, it's what makes us all interesting! He lives fairly simply and nearly self sufficiently without power and all the mod-cons. He uses solar, bottled gas and grows his own veggies. My kids used to love going to see him and camp at his place but now they are older and go a little mental and stir crazy at the lack of social media. And just because I love them so much, I insist they come with us anyway just to prove modern technology doesn't actually run their lives and, yes, the world will still rotate without the internet!
A lovely place to live, great capture..:-)

@gypsy6 Cool, you must have been just down the road! We have come home now, that little thing called work keeps rearing it's ugly head! It's a pretty area. Enjoy and stay safe. Happy New Year Deb.
