This is such a cool little shop. It has all the necessities for the locals and is like a step back in time before multi million dollar supermarkets and department stores ruled the world!
Great shot! We went through Noojee a couple of months ago on our way to Mt Baw Baw. I remembered when I was growing up we would drive through and there was someone with a burger van in their front garden that made amazing burgers for people heading up to the snow. But sadly this time (25 years later) it wasn't there anymore. Just this General Store was open. Very cool that you have captured it!
@jazhirst Thanks Jasmine, it is a place that time forgot hey? I was surprised to see that they have a new building on the road out to the Falls for a museum/historical centre. Got an old steam train out the front of it. The pub looks like it is well frequented by the locals and has live music every Sunday.
When I was in the army, we used to drive through Noojee regularly and there was a pub there that had all these casts of dinosaurs in the beer garden. They were really quite good. I once won the humorous class in a photo competition with Warrant Officer being taken by the head in one of the dinosaur's mouths. ha ha ha
