A quiet Place

I showed up early at a wildlife refuge for lunch. This Great Blue Heron was there to look at me when I made too much noise and disrupted it's nap.

I had clearer shots of this and other herons, but I felt shooting through the thicket added to the sense of place to the bird that the others lacked.

wonderful focus - I know how hard this is when those pesky twigs are between me and the koalas - this is beautiful
