I took this photo for work to show that more urban runoff gets into your waterways that you might expect.... All the downspouts are dumping the mixture right into the waterway.
Runoff is acutely lethal to some species, and remains mostly unstudied as to what sort of long term effects it has on most all other species.
@365karly1 Being in natural resources, It is amazing how true it is when old timers tell you that you won't make a difference, and your job is to bear witness to the slow decline and extermination of whatever it is that you initially set out to protect. All the easy choices have been made, and the choices everyone knows are needed to make a difference are not politically/financially easy.
