@louannwarren Yes there is a black market trade in Oz wildlife, especially birds and lizards and police and customs authorities wage a continuous battle to try to stamp it out. The real problem from an animal lovers perspective is that the animals are packed into small tight containers, eg birds are typically stuffed into cardboard tubes where there is no food, no water and not even wriggle room and then many of these tubes will be concealed in some other larger container, box or suitcase and then it is sent overseas. In the cases where the shipment has been intercepted by customs, the vast majority of the animals have died. For the arseholes engaged in the trade, the death rate is of no consequence since, because of the high prices paid for these animals, they only have to get a few through to the other end for them all to make very good money. So the answer at your end is, don't buy them.
@terryliv Just lovely, the one with Maggie is just adorable, Vivvie looks a bit fed up on hers, maybe because she's bored just sat on dads lap! I so envy the birds you get, they are just a delight
