Here Comes the Sun

Quite a heavy fog over Brisbane this morning so I went up to Mt Cootha to get the sun rising over the fog.
Took about a dozen shots just before and after the sun started to become visible and then just as it was about to get interesting, tried to take a shot and nothing. Tried again, still nothing.
Flat bloody battery.
This was the last one before the grey screen of death.

I thought the last photo was great. Until I saw this one. Even better. Lovely photo. Love the layers of the composition. Trees in foreground. Two layers of fog, bisected by the tops of skyscrapers. Then the orange sun and the dramatic layers of the sunrise sky. An easy Fav.

Well, thank goodness the battery lasted that long, this is a cracking shot. I'd like to say a lesson learnt but we all do it and do it again!

Great shot of the sun rising over the fog. Shame about the battery but it does happen unfortunately.

"Bloody Battery Flat"...happens to the best of us then. But what I want to know is why does it happen on special shoots like this one? I even let it happen to me during a visit to an animal park in South Africa last year. Couldn't believe my stupidity. Great shot by the way. Well worth the early morning rise.

Great shot Poppo. Time to buy a spare battery?

@landownunder Got two spares Denis. They were both in the camera bag where they should be. Didn't take the bag with me. :-(

I love it. Fabulous. What is the first rule for a photographer Poppo. Always carry a spare battery.

Wow, great shot, but a bugger about the battery. I had the same thing happen a couple of nights ago, line up the perfect sunset shot and nothing. By the time I got back to the car for my spare, it was too late :(
