Down the Hatch

A mother Pied Butcher Bird feeding one of two juveniles that have so far survived this breeding season. None made it last year.

Excellent timing. I guess they are helped along by feeding them raw mince, no doubt from your refrigerator.

Great job on this, Terry! I'm glad there were survivors this year.
On another note - did Rohan get united with his lost luggage? Hope the vacation is going well!

@365karly1 Hi Karly. We assume he did. We were talking with him late the previous night and he said the airline had located it and it was to be delivered the next morning. Since we never heard from him we assume they got their stuff and were to busy on the slopes.
They are in an apartment directly across the road from one of the hotels. When he skyped on the first night, there was a mountain of snow on the ground and it was snowing heavily.

A great capture, so glad the youngster seems to have made it through. Is this the Butcher Bird that came visiting your kitchen window?

@judithdeacon Yeah that's one of them Judith. The babies would have been around then but you may not have seen them
