And what's more, she is showing signs of having been on the nest.
It's been a year since we last saw our (wayward) Red Wing Parrot (see https://365project.org/terryliv/365-year-3/2020-11-15 ) but yesterday morning she showed up at our back door and had a very quick snack before she was scared off by one of the King Parrots.
What is even more exciting is that that indentation and those worn feathers on her chest looks like she has been nesting. If so, it is almost 100% certain that she and Mr Speckles, the male King Parrot, have consummated their relationship.
I feel like an expectant father.
For those of you who have not heard me rabbiting on about her before, she is the only Red Wing Parrot I have ever seen around Brisbane and she first showed up, out of the blue a couple of years ago.
She then appeared intermittently until October last year when she appeared in the company of Mr Speckles and they proceeded to play mothers and fathers - see https://365project.org/terryliv/365-year-3/2020-10-14
