My other fall back photos will be the local birdlife that frequents our back yard - I've already had our King Parrot. This is one of a flock of rainbow lorikeets that is particularly quiet and will sit on your hand, shoulder etc if it thinks it will get a free feed.
@aglennc Hi Anita. I live in Brisbane Australia and yes we have these birds in and out of the yard all day, every day. Anything up to about 40 or 50 birds at a time in our suburban block. This particular bird is very quiet and he was sitting on our kitchen window. I was only a bout a metre from him for this pic.
@aglennc In my opinion, the King Parrot (my photo from 05 Jan) is much more impressive although it probably doesn't show up in the photo. I'll try to get a better one of him. The rainbow lorries are very common and they are also something of bullies in the bird world. They will stand up to just about any other bird and in Western Australia where they have been introduced, they are regarded as a pest as they have taken over the habitat of the endemic lorikeets.
