My Brisbane 3 (Take 2) - Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium

It was a pic like this that got bumped by the water dragon yesterday so I was back to photograph it again today. The Brisbane Planetarium is in the Mt Cootha Botanical gardens that are a few Ks from us at the end of the freeway. It had been years since we were in the gardens and yesterday when we drove around, we were embarrassed by what was so close to us that we were unaware of. I think this idea of photographing our home town is going to open our eyes a bit and be very good for us.
Beautiful capture Poppo I've been here the gardens are beautiful and the Planetarium is really interesting

Oh isn't it just crazy what we do not make it a point to see close to home? There is so much we haven't seen here in our area

I was there last year, a brilliant day. I think I took a picture of a water dragon in the gardens there too. Your water dragon yesterday could be a relative of the one I photographed.

It is a great spot, though years since I visited. It created a love of star gazing :-)

"Take 2" because of the dragon. Good one. I'm marveling at the beautiful blue sky, the gorgeous green grass, the plants blooming everywhere. (Is that Bird of Paradise I'm seeing?)

The colors in the shot are so wonderfully true - (if that makes sense) - and love the landscape composition. Wonderful detail - some place I'd love to visit.

@digitalrn It sure is Rick. Usually when visitors ask us what they can do and see in Brisbane, we tell them we haven't got a clue - which is pretty close to the mark. We usually tell them to go to the Gold Coast or the Sunshine Coast since we know more about those places than we do about our own town

@tracelee @onewing @ribbet9 @hermann @milaniet @lyndemc @gilbertwood Thanks for comments everyone and glad to hear all the complements regarding the Planetarium itself. Now I have an embarrassing admission. I have never been to the Plnetarium show itself. I mean it is so close, we can always go tomorrow can't we? How sad is that? About 5 years or so ago there was talk of getting rid of it and a petition was started up to save it. I was outraged and of course very indignantly signed it. I mean, I hadn't been so they couldn't knock it down yet. Once its future was secured, I fell into my normal state of apathy. Normally I don't give a stuff about apathy :-)
