Heavy rain at home today and as per usual, the birds were looking for an easy meal and some shelter.
Over the past few months, the Rainbow Lorikeets have taken a liking to apple and demand it on a daily basis. Today, they didn't even wait for us to put some out but were sitting first on Rhoda to eat and then me.
Even though it was 7:15 and the sun had been up for almost an hour, it was still quite dark and the flash was necessary. SOOC - no crop. Best on black
@terryliv We have had around 7 mm so far, hopefully more overnight, would be nice to see our tanks overflowing, the rain has been very light and scattered :-)
Rain? Rain? Oh dear. No rain here in Melbourne today..........(nearly) blue skies!!! Regardless, this is an amazing shot - I love how they "demand" apples!!
These are the most awesome birds I've ever seen - their colors are like that indigo bunting I see, but being so much bigger you really see how glorious their color is. You got some fantastic detail there when you enlarge it. A must (enlarging it). It's such fun that they'll come eat with you. Fav
How amazing is this! Wild parrots, flocking to your hand for a treat. Now THAT's the way to have a "pet" parrot. They fly free and there's no cage cleaning. Fav for the beauty of these birds and your generosity in sharing your food with them.
