My Son's a Pyromaniac

My son's house has a fireplace and as soon as the temp gets below 20deg C, he has to light the fire. It does add to the ambience inside the house. (OK, I exaggerated the 20deg bit but not by much.)

HAHAH 20 degrees!!! That's what the temp in Melb will be tomorrow! Hard to believe we get that temp in Winter :)

Ha, he likes to be nice and toasty then! Lovely capture of the fire.

.....that's room temperature here, this morning we had 7 degrees C, with a forecast high of 10 or so....winter is around the corner!

Ah, the serenity. As long as the fire stays in the fireplace then all is well.

I must admit I've thought of lighting my fire but have resisted so far. Nice shot

Right now the only thing in my fireplace is grackles that keep wedging their way under the chimney guard and getting themselves stuck in the flue. Can't wait till it's chilly enough here to pile on the wood and feel the heat.

@lyndemc Grackles?????? A couple of times, my son has lit the fire at night and after a couple of minutes, has had a Brushtail Possum suddenly come charging out with smoke coming from its fur. He always checks the flue but it is hard to see if the possum is up there or not. Did you ever get to see the two pics of the Rainbows I posted a few days ago. I was thinking of you when I posted them.

@karlow75 Ha ha I forgot about you when I posted that. I suppose you kitted up and raced out to the BRT when you saw it.

@gilbertwood On the contrary. As I said in the write-up, as soon as there is a hint of chill in the air, on it goes. He just likes having it going and it is very comforting. See also the comment to Lyndemc above re the possum

@terryliv Oh my — a possum in the flue. That's likely one hot possum by the time he gets back outside. I'm on my way to the Lorikeet's picture. I've seen it (on my phone) but forgot I hadn't left a complimentary compliment. Maybe I'm still trying to recover from the jealousy. :)

... make that 'complimentary comment'.

Love it, we have a wood burner fire and the only thing I love about the cold is watching the flames.
