Over the last couple of days, the surf has been just about as good as it gets on the Gold Coast so today Rhoda and I drove down to Snapper Rocks for some 365 pics.
600+ photos later and a mountain of headaches trying to sort through them.
Decided to leave the surfing shots and go with this one of a group of surfers heading out through this channel in the rocks to join the surf.
Snapper Rocks is a famous right hand point break and each year hosts the Quicksilver and Roxy Pro as part of the World Surfing Titles.
A couple of years ago, Snapper Rocks was also the launch point for the longest board ride ever recorded when the point breaks at Snapper Rocks, Coolangatta, Kirra and North Kirra combined to give one lucky surfer the perfect 4km barrel ride.
Best on black.

Wow, amazing shot. Great choice, snapper rocks is a legendary place. This shot really depicts the power of the waves hitting the rocks. I must say I am a little jealous that I wasn't there. Big fave!!
That's an incredible image, with the water breaking on those jagged rocks. Makes me wonder about the sanity of this sport. The color of this image had me thinking you were trying out infra-red photography.
This is an incredible shot! Those waves are HUGE! I thought we had some big ones this week along the Calif. coast from the hurricane off Mexico but they weren't this powerful!
