Dripping with Nectar

I was trying to get a good photo of the flower stem on the Vriesea Kiwi Sunset which is about 1 metre long but eventually gave up and took a shot of the nectar (at least I think that's what it is) dripping from one of the many bracts along its length. The flower has yet to emerge

It looks like ice! However, given the temps of Brisvegas of late, I'm sure nothing is freezing outside :)

Great shot. I thought the same as Sam, it does look like an icicle, but highly unlikely in Brisbane at the moment.

Perhaps it's melting. Are there any insects that take advantage of this overflow??
