It's been ages since I posted a shot of the Rainbow lorikeets so I figured that , under the Statute of Limitations, it was OK for me to post this one from a couple of mornings ago. It had been pouring rain all night and after snack on the kitchen window sill, the two of them spent ages drying out and preening each other.
Lovely shot, the lorikeets are looking a bit bedraggled here too. According to our rain gauge 44 mm rain in 2 days. Typical Easter. The Bay is full of tourists at the moment so I bet they aren't happy with the rain.
They do look like they're soaked to the skin. But what beauties, even when wet.
You're right, I had a bit of relapse, posting that b&w barn picture. In all honestly, the sky was rather bland when in color, but the black and white treatment brought out some much needed detail.
OK, I back and catching up....and what a shot to come back to! What a great capture - great black background, beautiful lighting, and a mouthful of feathers. Fav by me! Missed your photos, Poppo.
