We have had this Eucharis Lily for almost 45 years but over the past couple of years, it has suffered a couple of near death experiences, thanks to a grub that got into the bulbs and ate the guts out of them leaving the rest to rot away.
Rhoda has managed to save just the one bulb and it is flowering for the first time since the grub attack.
They are a great plant that thrives on total neglect - except when they have grubs.

FAV. I didn't know a lily could live THAT long! amazing. And a beautiful capture of this hardy bulb that survived the attackers.
good luck on its survival.
45 years? Wow......you must have planted it just before my birthday (by a year or two....)!! It really is incredible - a very different shot from you! FAV FAV FAV
I'm honored by your comment, Sonia @soniainhk. Excellent photograph, Mr Livy. The lighting is fantastic, the focus and composition sublime. (I'm going to lay on the compliments here since Sonia thought it was a lyndemc shot. :) @terryliv No, really, it's a great picture. Had no idea a bulb could flower for so many years.
