After my first go at shooting the night sky at Cadney Station, I had had a couple of other attempts with not much success. (Tip: Don't have a few beers and then go out in the pitch black with your camera and attempt to manage settings etc and expect to get a good shot.)
The planes are on the Birdsville airstrip and are less than 50 metres from the front door of the pub.
This is so wonderful! Last week we spent four days at Canyonlands National Park, which was recently voted the best place in North America to photograph stars, and each night it was cloudy and rainy :(
Wonderful capture Terry!! I have never seen the milky way or indeed a night sky without city light pollution. If I was ever in the right place I was probably too drunk to go outside and look at the night sky!! I now have this on my bucket list!!
