I just love the complex colours that this juvenile Crimson Rosella displayed on his wing feathers.
The way the very dark blue scallop patterns are outlined in light blue and then fading into green and yellow on some feathers before merging into red at the extremities. It is very delicate and quite complex.
And then the electric blue flash at the front of his wings. And of course, the whole kaleidoscope of colours is set against that wonderful crimson body.
Don't you think it is a work of art? What? You cant see it? Oh that's right, the pic is B&W!! Well I can see it all in the colour version. Ha Ha Ha Ha
My celebration of the end of a month of having to look at countless B&W shots.
Hahaha, do I sense just a small hint of sarcasm? Or are you looking forward to monotone March? I actually like this in B&W. It really brings out the textures in the feathers.
Oh my goodness what a shock - no colour!! I love that you have chosen the most colourful bird to show us in B&W. A fine example!! I thought you had been converted just for a minute!! LOL!!
Ha ha, I think Poppo is getting a bit grumpy. I am a big fan of b&w of the subject is right, but beautifully coloured birds and flowers don't look well in b&w for me either. Take a deep breath Terry February is almost over.
LOL!!!!! When I saw this B&W image in the thumbnail views, I thought, "WHAT??? A colorless parrot picture from Poppo? He has lost his mind." Your point has been made. Tomorrow it's color again for me! (I have one more monochrome to take and post tho.)
A rainbow Lorikeet would look great in b&w ;)
