As far as outback pubs go, the bar of the Innamincka pub is decidedly understated. Still a very pleasant place for a beer or two which is exactly what Rhoda is about to set up as she breasts the bar.
The pub has a reputation for excellent food although we didn't get to try it out.
Dripping with a sense of place! I don't know about your commentary because of Australian slang. Here we say belly up to the bar, so I'm not sure what Rhoda did.
@cejaanderson I just about kacked myself laughing there Jane. Trust me, Rhoda did not do anything untoward at the bar. In the end, I guess it depends on the height of the bar - or the height of the person at the bar.
There must be many visitors to the town to be able to keep the pub going! There are so many pubs closing down every week in the UK - I think the only ones that survive surve good food. I thinks it's the smoking ban which has had such a great impact. I bet that beer was welcome! Well done Rhoda for sorting out your drinks for you!
