Lake Eyre Yacht Club by terryliv

Lake Eyre Yacht Club

To quote their web site:
"Ya gotta be jokin right?
No we're not." LOL

I would imagine that all Oz 365ers will instantly find this very funny. For O/S 365ers, Lake Eyre rarely has any water in it although following the floods of 2011, they were able to hold regattas in 2011-2013. There was no water last year and this year.

According to their web site, "The Lake Eyre Yacht Club made history on 8 July 2010 by being the first in the world to conduct a yachting event along a road, in fact Australia's most iconic road the Birdsville Track!" Only in the outback. LOL

After being 3 weeks behind, I have finally caught up. My apologies for the (sometimes) 6 shots a day and for the sporadic comments but with over 4000 photos to go through and decide upon, it has been bloody hard work. I always find it very hard to separate the 365 worthy photos from the happy snaps that form an important part of the trip

Must be funny to come across a yacht club when there is no water anywhere about. Good that they make the best of things when there is no water by holding an event on the road. Great shot.
