Now That's a Bromeliad

Came across this tree covered in Old Man's Beard on the drive in the Gold Coast hinterland. Somewhere in there is Rhoda, "saving" bits that have fallen on the ground. LOL
Also known as Spanish Moss, it is actually a Bromeliad, Tillandsia usneoides although it looks nothing like any of the broms in our back yard.
I have lots of it too, and lots of broms BUT.... I never knew they were related! Thanks for the info,Terry.

Wonderful scenic country behind the Gold Coast.We lived at Currumbin for 15yrs .Would like to return now with camera and do it all again ,natural arch and keep going over the border and end up in Murwillumbah,then via Tomewin back into Currumbin valley.Great scenery in the whole area, .Glad Rhoda has that wonderful life saving trait !!lol

Beautiful, I have several broms, but haven't tried to grow Spanish Moss. I didn't know they were related either.

Beautiful feathery Spanish Moss.! Saw some in Charleston last Spring.

I had no idea that Spanish Moss fell into the bromeliad family. Lovely shot.
