Day 8 - Munurru Art Gallery

This is the rocky outcrop that contained all the paintings and the burial sites from the past couple of postings. It was not that large - you could walk around it in only a few minutes but it contained a wealth of rock paintings - and the burial site
No need to comment, just answering Janes question about the burial site.

Wonderful photos and travelogue. You've got me convinced, I need to do some adventuring down under.

How I love that sky contrasting with the ancient rocks :)

Thank you, Terry! This really says much about how remote this is. In our area, places like this have been plundered, much to the spiritual consternation of the native people, and so now must be protected as such artifacts are quite lucrative on the black market.

@cejaanderson A couple of things Jane, Yes it is VERY remote. I'll post a pic shortly that shows how remote. The people that take the effort to travel to these remote places do so for this very experience and really appreciate it. Hence they are more likely to leave things alone. And there are no sign posts to make the very few passers by aware of the site.
