Day 11 - Great Northern Highway by terryliv

Day 11 - Great Northern Highway

After some 7 days and over 1600kms travelling on the corrugated dirt surfaces of the Gibb River Road and the Kalumburu Road, we finally reached the eastern end where the Gibb River Road meets up with the Great Northern Highway - a sealed road - boring!!!!!!!!.
The top two shots are obviously facing west and back from where we had just come. Initially, we will head north for a look at Wyndham and then retrace our steps and head south to Kununurra where we will spend the night
I love road signs and road shots (I think I have said that before.)

On the map at http://365project.org/terryliv/from-the-archiv/2015-01-06 this is shown as Day 10 and it should be Day 11.

certainly a remote part of the country.

Interesting photos and commentary. My eye was immediately drawn to the place name Wyndham because we have a place here in Suffolk pronounced exactly the same way but spelt Wymondham.

@peterlgrave You can see the truck stopped off to the left Peter. We dropped the trailer while we went into Wyndham and then picked it up on the way to Kununurra
