A couple of weeks ago, I was going through a lot of my old photos (nothing to do with 365) and I was struck by two things:
I. How good some of them were - all things considered, and
ii How bad MOST of them were when at the time, I thought they were pretty good.
So I thought I would post some of the better (in my opinion) ones at times when I am out of ideas and out of motivation.
First up is a shot I took of the Singing Ship, a memorial erected in 1970 in Emu Park commemorating the bicentenary of the discovery of Roslyn Bay, by Captain Cook in May 1770. The memorial represents the billowing sail, mast and rigging of his ship Endeavour. Concealed organ pipes use the sea breezes to create eerie music.
What amazing clouds! The memorial is quite beautiful, as are the surrounds but those clouds are something else! FAV. I know what you mean about old photos, Steve is busy scanning all our old slides going back years and can't believe how bad some are!!!
I gotta say, the clouds steal the show in this one. That sail sculpture is really cool tho, and what a great idea, having pipe organs that create music to go along with the artwork.
Hey, that's where my Aussie biker friends took me for my coastal visit. Impressive place. I was impressed that they all saluted as we passed by the veterans' cemetery as we exited. Oh, and yes, this is a great shot!
