Autumn colors in the deep south... by thewatersphotos

Autumn colors in the deep south...

I wanted to show that we "do" have color in our state (we live around the middle) but still with lots of green from the pines.
I did not meet this fellow. He knew I was taking his picture but was concentrating on fishing. I never saw him catch anything. I was also surprised at the size of the motor he has on his boat. This is a very small lake, so I'm sure he did not use that here. :- )
Tom
Wonderful golden light Gary and the red really pops

I love how you composed this and, also, the splash of red. Well seen and beautifully captured, Gary!

The fellow fishing from his boat adds interest to the scene.

Great candid shot

Lovely... still looks warm there since the fisherman has on shorts. Yep... big motor... but he has his trolling motor down and that may be all he used on your lake.

Always love a guy in a red jacket! Lovely shot!

Wonderful capture Gary. I like how the colour of his shirt really poops in the shot with the soft fall colours in the background. :)

Nicely done on this candid shot. The solitude of him fishing by himself and focused is really relaxing.

Nice shot of the lake and the fellow and his boat.

Nice image Yes that is a very BIG motor for sure!

And still in shorts! Surely he doesn't use that motor there - would swamp every other boat around :) Never did understand the need for one so big.

So nice to have the color come right up to the water's edge too.

The red top of the fisherman really stands out and the colours in the leaves look good too. That sure is some heavy-weight outboard he's got there - if he opened it up he would probably fly!!

Pat
A lovely autumn scene and the fisherman's top adds a nice splash of red, fav.

Yeah, “autumn” is very different “down south” than it was growing up in Michigan…!

So beautiful! I get irritated just about every year when people from other places say that Texas doesn’t have an autumn. Scientifically speaking, we all experience autumn. The colors just north of Houston and beyond are beautiful this year.
