I am 20 years old. I am engaged to Zac Henderson. I am a painter but thanks to Zac, I have recently discovered a passion for photography.
I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design for the 08-09 school year. It was WAY too expensive though so I decided to leave and spend a year at a community college.
Zac and I have been dealing with this sucky long-distance relationship because of that decision.
I have been working all year to 1) make some more money and 2) apply to more art schools, including SCAD, in hopes of being offered better scholarships than I was offered previously. I think I have a better chance this go round because I have a 4.0 college GPA (which I did not have in high school), I have had a year of formal training in the traditional arts at SCAD, and I have now opened myself up to the new medium: photography.
I have applied to 7 schools: SCAD, Memphis College of Art, the University of Alabama, Maryland Institute College of Art, Rhode island School of Design, Ringling College of Art, and the University of Montevallo. And I have applied as a photo major.
I realize this is a big decision, considering I have only been photographing seriously for a few months now, but I feel good about it. I still LOVE painting/drawing but I feel that photography is a more realistic career path for me.
The 365 project has been Wonderful for me. I am growing so much from this experience and really benefiting from the self-discipline required to keep it up.
Nice to meet you.
Sincerely, Tiffany Elaine Everett
